Scripts are mailed out before the first day of camp. Students should have read the play and arrive with 2 character choices for which they would like to audition.
Auditions will be held on the first 2 days of camp. The musical director will teach part of an ensemble song for one-on-one evaluation. The choreographer will give a simple movement audition, and then the director will play some character acting games. At callbacks, we will be reading scenes from the play.
Casting is a collaboration of all teachers and KAOW reserves the right to determine casting at our discretion. It’s wonderful to get to know the childrens’ talents before casting. We will be teaching audition techniques; working on monologues and songs for future auditions.
Costumes are created at camp.
After the show has been cast and the kids know the characters they will be playing, a notice regarding costumes will be sent home. Costumes are not bought or rented but created at camp with essentials brought from home.
And now, to set the stage.
Campers will be involved in helping to create the set and props. On painting days, we will supply T-shirts to protect their clothing.
We will capture those memorable moments.
We take pictures and videos through out camp which are available for sale at the shows. A FREE headshot of each student will be taken and yours to keep after the show.

*The campers arrive at 2pm and stay with us until showtime of 7pm. Please pack a light dinner with them.
The shows will be held at the Adventist Academy.
Tickets are $5.00 per child and $10 per adult. There will be plenty of seats.
The reward for all their hard work.
Cast party is right after the last show at 3:30pm-5:00pm at the pool. We will supply the pizza! Potluck from the parents would be appreciated.
